About the Cheer Program
As one of the athletic programs offered at Christ the Redeemer Catholic School (CtRCS), Crusader Cheerleading supports the overall school purpose to foster academic excellence with a love of God and neighbor that inspires and challenges our children to become leaders who proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ in word and action.
The Girls Cheerleading Program strives to develop strong and confident young women. Through their participation, cheerleaders learn valuable life lessons including integrity, work ethic, mutual respect, accountability and commitment. The coach and sponsors are dedicated to building Christ-centered cheer athletes by setting high standards and expectations.
Cheerleaders represent our school with enthusiasm and pride at sport competitions, school assemblies and other school events. Cheerleading sign-up/tryouts are held in the spring for the following school year.

Cheer DetailsHow long is the cheer season?The cheer team is prepared to promote school spirit from the first day of the school year through the last day before spring break.
Who can participate?Rising 5th-7th grade girls sign-up/try-out in March of each year to earn a place on the team. A mandatory parent meeting is scheduled in March to set expecations for sign-up/try-outs. Summer overnight camp dates are released to ensure all team members can attend.Is Summer Overnight Camp Mandatory?Summer overnight camp for the 2022-2023 season dates at Texas A&M in College Station will be announced soon. This camp is mandatory as it sets the foundation for the entire season.
When are practices during the season?Practices are held on campus immediately after school in the RAC on most Wednesdays until 5:30pm.
How much does it cost to participate?
The atheltic fee for cheer for the 2022-2023 school year will remain at $525 per athlete. These funds support team uniforms, personalized team accessories, pep rally items, safety equipment, sport banquet items, coach stipends, pre-season camp items. Other incidental expenses will be incurred by participants.
Fees and incidental costs will be billed through family FACTS accounts.
Uniform Details/Incidentals:For those joining the team, uniform fittings are scheduled in May. The uniform top, skirt and pom poms are distributed from the school inventory and rented to the athlete for the cheer season (as part of the athletic fee). Uniform items will be returned to the program at the end of the season. Parents are responsible for limited incidental items including:- Personalized Bow
- Team Shirts
- Practice Shorts
- Solid White Cheer Shoes
Additional items may be needed.The CtR Cheer Team will support CtR sport programs by:- Cheering at home games for volleyball in the fall and basketball in the winter
- Cheering at assemblies where team rosters are announced
- Cheering at sport banquet events
The CtR Cheer Team will support other school-sponsored events including:- Welcome Back Events
- Monthly Assemblies
- Chili Cook-Off
- Steps for Students
