At Christ the Redeemer Catholic School, our comprehensive Counseling and Guidance Program supports the academic, social, emotional, spiritual, and personal growth of every student. The program is designed to help students develop the skills and confidence needed to navigate challenges, build healthy relationships, make responsible decisions, and achieve success both in and out of the classroom.
Our counseling program is proactive, developmental, and preventative in nature, serving students in Pre-Kindergarten through 8th Grade. Through monthly classroom guidance lessons, individual support, small-group interventions, and collaboration with families and faculty, students are equipped with age-appropriate tools to thrive academically and personally.

Responsive Services provide timely support for students whose academic, social, emotional, behavioral, or personal concerns may be impacting their well-being or success at school. The goal of these services is to help students navigate challenges, develop healthy coping skills, and continue growing in a positive and productive manner.
Referrals for support may be initiated by students, parents, teachers, administrators, or the school counselor. Concerns may include academic difficulties, peer relationships, stress, family changes, behavioral challenges, conflict resolution, or other situations that may affect a student's ability to thrive.
Responsive Services may be preventative in nature, helping students address concerns before they become more significant, or intervention-based, providing support when students are experiencing immediate challenges.

Individual Planning helps students develop the skills needed to set goals, monitor progress, and take an active role in their academic, personal, and social growth. Through age-appropriate guidance and support, students are encouraged to recognize their strengths, identify areas for growth, and develop strategies for success.
The school counselor works collaboratively with students, teachers, administrators, and families to support each student's educational journey. Services may include assistance with goal setting, academic planning, progress monitoring, and helping students develop organizational and decision-making skills.
The counselor also serves as a resource for teachers by providing support with assessment interpretation, student progress monitoring, and referral procedures when additional academic or personal support may be needed.
