Melissa Pohlmeyer is thrilled to be joining the Christ the Redeemer Catholic School family as the third-grade Reading Language Arts and Social Studies teacher.
After retiring from public education, Melissa felt God calling her to continue teaching in a Catholic school where she could openly incorporate her faith into the classroom. It is truly a blessing for her to answer that call, and she is grateful for the opportunity to share both her love of learning and her love of Christ with her students.
Born and raised in Houston, Melissa has called Christ the Redeemer Parish her home since 2006. It is especially meaningful for her to now serve the same community that has been such an important part of her family's faith journey.
Melissa and her husband, Craig, have been happily married for 30 years and are blessed with three wonderful grown children - Kennedy, Kamryn, and Ross. They are also eagerly anticipating the arrival of their first grandchildren, and this new season of life has brought them tremendous joy.
Melissa believes that every child is a unique gift from God and strives to create a classroom where students feel loved, encouraged, challenged, and inspired to grow academically, spiritually, and socially. She looks forward to partnering with families and becoming part of each child's educational and faith journey.
Melissa is excited to meet her students and their families and looks forward to a wonderful year of learning, growing, and celebrating God's blessings together.
