"Watching my grandfather faithfully serve as a deacon for 21 years inspired me to find my own way to serve the Church. As a lifelong-Catholic and parishioner at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church (CtR) for 20 years, I have been blessed with the opportunity to combine my love for teaching with my Catholic faith. I am excited to partner with families to help students grow not only as learners but also as disciples of Christ, discovering the gifts God has uniquely given them."
Kristy Moreno joined the CtR Catholic School faculty in the summer of 2026 as a Middle School Literature teacher, bringing 15 years of experience in both public and private education.
She most recently served as the eighth-grade English Language Arts teacher at Cypress Christian School, where she created and implemented a rigorous literacy curriculum with an integrated biblical worldview. Previous experience also includes serving as an English III Team Leader in Cy-Fair ISD for nine years, as well as English teacher for grades 5-12 at The Center for Teaching and Learning in The Woodlands, where she specialized in workshop instruction, inquiry-based learning, and differentiated instruction.
Kristy earned her Bachelor of Arts in English and Public Relations from Texas State University and her Master of Education in Educational Administration from Concordia University Texas.
Originally from Port Lavaca, Texas, Kristy has called the Houston area home for the past two decades. She and her husband have two children who both attend CtRCS. Kristy loves traveling, reading, writing, creating, attending concerts, and making memories.
