Gabby Maldonado is excited to join the Christ the Redeemer Catholic School family as a PK4 teacher. She has always felt called to work with young children because she believes the preschool years are where a lifelong love of learning begins. It is a privilege for her to help children grow academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually while sharing God's love with them each day.
One of the things that drew Gabby to Christ the Redeemer Catholic School was its strong commitment to Catholic education and its emphasis on building a faith-filled community. She is grateful for the opportunity to teach in an environment where faith is woven into every part of the school day and where students are encouraged to grow in both knowledge and their relationship with Christ.
Originally from Querétaro, Mexico, Gabby has called Houston home for the past 26 years and currently lives in the Jersey Village area. She and her family are parishioners at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church, where they have been active members since 2025.
Before joining Christ the Redeemer, Gabby taught preschool for 12 years at several schools within the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston. During that time, she developed engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons rooted in Catholic values. She believes in creating a classroom that is nurturing, structured, and joyful, where every child feels safe, loved, and encouraged to reach their full potential.
Gabby earned her Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education from the University of Houston–Downtown and is currently pursuing a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of St. Thomas. She has also earned her Catholic Teacher Development Graduate Certificate, further strengthening her knowledge of Catholic education and faith formation.
Gabby's favorite part of teaching is watching children discover something new and seeing the excitement and confidence that come with learning. She especially enjoys creating hands-on, engaging lessons that encourage students to explore, ask questions, and develop a genuine love for school. Building meaningful relationships with her students and their families is one of the greatest joys of her career.
Outside of the classroom, Gabby enjoys spending time with her family, taking road trips, exploring small towns, and trying new restaurants. She looks forward to partnering with families and helping each of her students grow in faith, knowledge, kindness, and confidence throughout the school year.
