Abbie Blaszak is excited to join the Christ the Redeemer Catholic School family as a first-grade teacher. She has dreamed of becoming a teacher since kindergarten and still experiences the same excitement for the start of a new school year that first inspired her more than eight years ago when she began her teaching career.
Christ the Redeemer has always held a special place in Abbie's heart. She remembers when the school first opened while she was in college, and one of her first jobs was working in the school's after-care program. A lifelong parishioner, she received both her First Holy Communion and Confirmation at Christ the Redeemer and was actively involved in the parish youth program. Returning to the school where her faith grew is especially meaningful, as it allows her to combine two of her greatest passions - her Catholic faith and teaching - in a place she has always considered home.
Abbie earned her bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas A&M University in 2018 - Whoop! She began her teaching career in Cypress-Fairbanks ISD as a kindergarten special education teacher, where she served for six years and earned certifications in Special Education, English as a Second Language, and Gifted and Talented education. She then spent two years teaching second grade at St. Rose of Lima Catholic School. During that time, she also began pursuing a master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of St. Thomas.
Outside the classroom, Abbie treasures her role as a wife and mother. She married her husband, Jake, in 2020 in what she jokingly describes as "the most COVID-inspired wedding possible." Together they have two wonderful sons, Jethro and August, who are the best of friends and the greatest joy in their lives.
Abbie is grateful for the opportunity to return to Christ the Redeemer and is excited to meet all of the Crusaders as she becomes part of this faith-filled community.
