Christ the Redeemer Catholic School is doing an hour of code during Computer Science Week, Dec. 5 - 11, 2016. Computer Science Education Week (CSEdWeek) is an annual program dedicated to inspiring K-12 students to take interest in computer science. CSEdWeek is held in recognition of the birthday of computing pioneer Admiral Grace Murray Hopper. See the details about the Hour of Code!

The dates for our fall Scholastic Book Fair are Oct. 11-14. Students will preview the fair on Oct. 3 and Oct. 4 to make their wish lists. Shopping will open the following week. See the details!

CtRCS is starting a Vocation Chalice Program this year! Led by our new Religion Teacher, Mark Dolce, this program will help facilitate a culture of vocations at CtRCS.

Boy Scout Troop #573 at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church​ helped CtRCS and the Genesis Early Childhood Program by installing new, permanent trash cans on the playground this year.

In the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston Catholic education fundraiser of the year, the 11th Annual Steps for Students 2016 was a hit! We had more than 600 participants and 300 donors!

Christ the Redeemer Catholic School participated in the annual Catholic Schools Week, a national week that celebrates Catholic education in the United States. Below is a recap of each day’s events during the week.

To celebrate National Catholic Schools Week, Jan. 31-Feb. 6, CtRCS will host an Open House from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 4 at the school. For the next school year, 2016-17, the school will welcome students for 7th grade.

Spring Creek presented a check to the school on Dec. 17 at assembly for $1,300.

To honor and support United States service men and women overseas, Christ the Redeemer Catholic School participated in Operation Gratitude. Students donated their Halloween Candy and wrote letters to those who are serving our country.

Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church and School had 24 singers participate in the Pueri Cantores Festival, a yearly event put on by this international Catholic choral organization, on Saturday, Feb. 7 at the Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart.

CtR Catholic School hosted its inaugural “Chilly” Cook Off on Jan. 23 and raised more than $20,000 as a part of Steps for Students, an Archdiocesan campaign to raise awareness and support for Catholic education. The event had 19 teams cooking chili and more than 550 people in attendance. With the music turned up, chili pouring and children playing, it was tough to tell who was having more fun – the kids or the adults.
