The fifth grade students are using only clay, sticks, and paper to replicate shelters used by the North American Indians. American Indians made shelters with local resources appropriate to the physical characteristics and climate of their region.

Christ the Redeemer Catholic School (CtRCS), in Northwest Houston, welcomed its new principal, Dan Courtney, with a Parent Meet and Greet on Thursday, July 27. To a group of 160-plus parents, Courtney talked with many families after giving a short presentation about his life and experience.

Meeting the needs of more than 6,500 families culminated in a Groundbreaking Ceremony for our new Redeemer Activity Center (RAC) on May 7. Many families, parishioners and friends of CtR and CtR Catholic School were able to join us for the celebration!

Families were able to snack, stroll and read student created poetry for National Poetry Month. The students created shape, haiku, cinquain and acrostic poems. They even recited poems for the class and created QR codes to share with their families!

The Annual Steps for Students 5K Run/Walk raises awareness and support for Catholic education in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston. In 2017, more than 600 students, parents, parishioners and friends joined Team CtR and the school received more than $85,000 in donations to fund its mission of excellence in Catholic education in northwest Houston.

Our 5th grade students are starting their service project in honor of the Super Bowl LI coming to Houston. We're helping to make a difference in the lives of local children this Super Bowl season. We’ve teamed up with the National Football League (NFL), the Houston Texans, the Houston Super Bowl Host Committee, Verizon and the Houston Texans YMCA for a community project.
