Christ the Redeemer Catholic School hosted an Archdiocesan In-service for CtR and area teachers on Monday, Feb. 18. Below is an synopsis of the day. Third grade teacher Michelle Matlock was involved in the planning of the in-service and pleased with the collaboration throughout the day.

Christ the Redeemer Catholic School (CtRCS) Music Teacher and Choir Director Mary Ann Addis attended the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) Convention in February 2019 in San Antonio, Texas. She was joined by Christ the Redeemer (CtR) Director of Music Ministries Bridget Wenk, CtR Cantor and CtRCS parent Molly Englert, and CtR Redeemer Choir Cantor Cliff Randle.

Mrs. Jennifer Soliman’s 4th grade students were curious about why the covered walkway that was newly installed at Christ the Redeemer Catholic School, between the Redeemer Activity Center and the school building, was two different heights. Soliman then had a thought for a cool project.

The mission of the Storytelling Group is to share stories, and photos, about students and their families so that they can get to know each other. The Christ the Redeemer Catholic School (CtRCS) Storytelling Group met in the conference room after drop-off on Thursday, Jan. 24 to discuss and shared ways the group could make an impact.

We celebrate our nation by inviting active military, veterans and first responders to our school for Catholic Schools Week. They spent time telling stories and talking about their time in the service. Then the whole school celebrated as they walked in a parade around the school.

On Wednesday, Jan. 30, we celebrated vocations for Catholic Schools Week! Our very own CtR deacons and several others from the Houston area visited the school to talk to our students about vocations and how they serve the Church and others through their vocation.

We celebrated Career Day on Jan. 28. CtRCS parents led the way as they shared their careers with our students. They talked about their specific job, how they incorporate S.T.R.E.A.M. (science, technology, religion, engineering, arts and math) and how they live out their faith in the work place.

On Sunday, Jan. 13, boys and girls ages 9 to 14 participated in the Knights of Columbus Council #8771 Free Throw Championship in the RAC Gym. Our Christ the Redeemer winners going on to compete on in the Regional Free Throw Championship on Feb. 17 are:

We are proud to announce that 40 percent of our 3rd-6th graders qualified for DECATS this summer. Students qualify by scoring at or above the 95 percentile in one or more sub-tests on the IOWA. Read the full story online.

The week before Advent started, Christ the Redeemer Catholic School 1st grade classes prepared to start the Advent season by doing an Act of Random Kindness. They made stones with a picture of Baby Jesus and a card for the Christ the Redeemer Youth Ministry Rise and Encounter students who share their classroom.

Our families joined together in prayer for the National Day of Student Prayer on Wednesday, Sept. 26. We lifted up our teachers, school, families, friends and nation to God.

CtRCS JV Soccer remains undefeated taking St. Anthony of Padua 4-1! Go Crusaders! The rain couldn’t dampen our Crusader spirit!

Our students are practicing the scientific method at CtRCS! Learn more about this fun experiment where students tested different dish-washing liquids by blowing bubbles.

Christ the Redeemer Catholic School’s theme this year is A.R.K.: Acts of Random Kindness. The 1st grade students were, so excited about the theme that they started the year off by reading and discussing Noah's Ark and God's promise.

Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church dedicated and blessed its new Redeemer Activity Center (RAC) Aug. 12 in Northwest Houston. Daniel Cardinal DiNardo celebrated Mass at Christ the Redeemer, and dedicated and blessed the new building.

On May 22, we had our annual 3rd grade pioneer day! We have this day at the conclusion of reading "Little House in the Big Woods" by Laura Ingalls Wilder to make the novel come to life for the students. Read more about this fun day!

CtRCS 1st grade used the science lab for the first time! They shined flashlights on stuffed animals to see the shadow they produce.
