As we approach the end of the 2019-20 school year, we know you have questions and concerns regarding the fall.  Please review the document below, where you will find outlines of three possible, alternative plans to our current 2020-2021 calendar.

While it is not unexpected, it is sad to write that CtRCS school building will be closed for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year. This follows the announcement from Governor Abbot yesterday along with our superintendent's announcement.

In keeping with the decisions of the local Cy-Fair Independent School District along with the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, Christ the Redeemer Catholic School will be closed the entire week of March 16-20 for both students and faculty/staff.  

CtRCS is following closely all news from the CDC, Houston Health Department, and the Archdiocese of Galveston Houston to monitor coronavirus developments.

Team CtRCS had one of the largest groups show up in support of Catholic education at the annual 5k and fun run downtown earlier this month.

Re-enrollment has begun at CtRCS. We look back in thanks and look forward with the hope and anticipation of another year of inspired learning. Principal Dan Courtney outlines key accomplishments from 2019 as well as 2020-21 tuition rates.

Christ the Redeemer Catholic School first grade students visited nine classrooms for the nine months Mary was pregnant with Jesus. Better known as Las Posadas (Posadas is Spanish for “lodgings” or “accommodations”), the whole school was able to understand this rich tradition in Latin culture by participating in this “journey.”

Months of preparation by students and faculty go into organizing the S.T.R.E.A.M. Christmas Program every year and students are eager to share this prayerful experience with the Christ the Redeemer Catholic School (CtRCS) community.

The week before Thanksgiving break, CtRCS families banded together to collect food items for Cypress Assistance Ministries.

Teaching a Kindergarten student to live a holy life sounds like a challenge, but Kindergarten Teacher Renee’ Saunier is allowing her students to discover holiness through the lives of our best examples – the saints.

For students Carlos Rodriguez and Sevil Oksuzler, running is their passion. As a part of the Christ the Redeemer Catholic School Cross Country Team, both students were honored with medals for their great accomplishments. However, these student leaders understand the difference between just running to win and running to achieve their personal best.

Honoring the dead is a meaningful and important part of Catholic tradition. Nov. 1, All Saints, and Nov. 2, All Souls, allow us to revere and honor our beloved dead. CtRCS Spanish teacher, Julie Crover, is merging Mexican and Catholic tradition with Day of the Dead celebrations in all of her Spanish classes on the cusp of these holy days.

We are excited and honored to announce that we have three teachers at CtRCS who have been selected for the ACET program. These teachers are Megan Reyna, Michelle Matlock, and Ashley Wetwiski. Please join us in celebrating and recognizing these stellar teachers.

Congratulations to CtRCS Crusader Lillian House! She is the proud recipient of the Duchesne Academy of the Sacred Hearts' Janet Erskine Stuart Award.

April is National Poetry month and 2nd grade sets this time aside to celebrate poets and their craft! Each writing block started with a daily poetry “battle” by listening to two different poems from famous authors each day, voting on the favorite, and then ultimately choosing the class favorite!

It was another great year for CtRCS at Steps for Students - the annual 5K race supporting Catholic education throughout the Archdiocese and especially here on our own campus! We're so proud of the more than 450 runners, walkers and snoozers who registered to make a difference at CtRCS in February 2019!

We are pleased to announce that Avery Melanson, 7th grade, has been accepted as a Junior Finalist in the Honors Junior Choir for the 2019 Middle School Honors Performance Series at Carnegie Hall.

Christ the Redeemer Catholic School’s (CtRCS) Art Teacher, Gabrielle Bergeron, attended the National Art Education Association Annual Conference in Boston during Spring Break 2019. After a conference filled with inspiring art and impressive sessions, Bergeron is excited to integrate new ideas at CtRCS.

Christ the Redeemer Catholic School 5th grade students recently finished up an initiative called the Pajama Program. The Pajama Program is a nationally recognized giving opportunity through Scholastic Books.
